Digital Learning resource #3

This week I want to share with you the teaching aide, Google NotebookLM. Google’s NotebookLM summarizes the sources that you provide into text — and even audio! — resources to help you understand it better. Google calls it “your personalized AI research assistant.”
How it works: Users input their notes into NotebookLM, and the AI analyzes the content to create summaries, highlight key points, and suggest related information. The tool also allows users to search their notes using natural language queries, making it easier to find specific information.
Pricing and terms: Google NotebookLM is free.

Instructional strategy #3- Introduce, cite, and explain (ice)
This week’s instructional strategy is introducing, citing, and explaining quotes. Often, students can find quotes, but they do not know how to correctly embed them into their writing. The “ICE” strategy is a simple way to teach students to use quotes correctly. This strategy applies to all content areas, as any analysis (literary, scientific, historical, etc.) must be supported and authenticated by citations. Below is a link to a PowerPoint that will effectively teach this citation strategy. Big thanks to Ms. Hamilton for providing the PowerPoint.
